In 2014, Jet is still grieving the death of Gina who was the principal of Summer Bay High so he decides to join the school committee. He doesn't want anyone to forget about Gina so he organizes a fund raiser, at which Kyle Braxton performs, to help build a fund for a memorial for Gina. The fundraiser is a success and Jett starts to design the memorial. Jett begins dating Nina Bailey, a girl he met at the school disco.

Marilyn befriends Danny Braxton and he later takes her out for dinner. She is later upset when she hears he has died during a robbery. Marilyn and Sid's relationship suffers and they break up. Marilyn moves back into Summer Bay House and she decides to become a hairdresser again to raise some money. Marilyn becomes upset when Sid tells her that he is seeing Roo. Following a tarot card reading for Elijah Johnson (Jay Laga'aia), Marilyn briefly believes they should be together romantically.
When a DNA test confirms Richard Bozic is Jett's biological dad, he decides to take Jett to live with him in West Australia. But Jett hates it there and eventually returns to Summer Bay. Jett is sent to live with a foster family after it is discovered his troubled mum Liz James has died and Jett has kept her death a secret. Show bosses have cast former McLeod's Daughters star Bridie Carter in the role of Susie McAllister, a Summer Bay newcomer who takes a shine to John . The journalist served as "Today" news anchor and White House Correspondent during his 40-year career with the network.
Palmer evaded arrest at the time, after fleeing to Tenerife with his family only days prior to his company being raided and its directors arrested. His family returned to England, whilst he sold his remaining assets back home and set up a timeshare business at Island Village, near Playa de las Américas. He attempted to move to Brazil after Spain signed an extradition treaty with the UK, but he was arrested and his entry refused as he had travelled on an expired passport. Deported back to England, he was forced to face trial. Palmer was born in Solihull, Warwickshire, one of seven children. Reportedly dyslexic, Palmer left school at 15 and joined his brother Malcolm in a roof tiling business and also sold paraffin from "the back of a lorry".
At John's wedding to Marilyn, Jett asked them to adopt him and they accept. When Jett moves out of Summer Bay to go to military school, Jett gave John an apron as goodbye gift. Jett sometimes would return to Summer Bay to see him.
Jett was happy when John and Man are getting married and at the wedding, he asked them to adopt him and they accept. Jett had a hard time to call Maz "Mum" and when he left Summer Bay to go to military school, he gives her a new purse as a goodbye gift and as he leaves he finally calls her "Mum". After Gina's death John begins a relationship with Marilyn. Marilyn and John start up there own tourist bus business which transports people all over Summer Bay showing them the sites.
Jett is happy when VJ returns and they begin catching up. Jett introduces VJ to Nina, but they reveal that they hate each other as VJ believes Nina stole a Pokémon card he owned in primary school. When VJ asks Jett to choose between him and Nina, Jett chooses Nina. Richard relents and a court date is set to make the adoption official.
She's the ex-girlfriend of Martin Dibble, Adam Cameron, Steven Matheson, Sid Walker and Danny Braxton. She's also the mother of Bryon Fisher, and the adoptive mother of Jett James. In 2015, John and Marilyn are unhappy when Jett decides he wants to attend military school. But they have since become very proud of his achievements and recently went to Jett's graduation ceremony.
